DIPLOMA IN MARKETING MANAGEMENT.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

Any individuals who are or wish to be involved in Marketing Management will access this qualification. It also serves as the entry qualification into Marketing Management Qualifications in the higher band of learning. This qualification is also related to other qualifications such as the Qualifications in Customer Management, in Market Research and in Marketing Communications where all four of these qualifications will share fundamental competence as well as core competence. Portability across all four of these qualifications are therefore ensured.

Rationale of the qualification:

This Qualification in Marketing Management is designed to meet the needs of those learners who enter the field of Marketing Management. The whole marketing field per se is a key business function necessary for the success of any organisation, both strategically and operationally.

The qualification has building blocks that can be developed further and will lead to a more defined Marketing Management career path at advanced level.

It also focuses on the skills, knowledge, values and attitudes required to progress further. The intention is:

  • To promote the development of knowledge and skills that are required in all sub-sectors of marketing.
  • To release the potential of people.
  • To provide opportunities for people to move up the value chain.

Many different roles and careers are linked to and affected by this qualification. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Marketing Managers / Marketing Directors
  • Brand Managers / Marketing Assistants
  • Brand Assistants / Product Managers
  • Category Managers

The Diploma in Marketing Management should produce knowledgeable, skilled Marketing Managers who are able to contribute to improved productivity and efficiency within the marketing industry. It should provide the means for current individuals in the Marketing Management field to receive recognition of prior learning and to upgrade their skills and knowledge base. The qualification is structured in such a way that exposes individuals to a set of core competences to give a broad understanding of marketing and the electives, which will allow for a specific competence in Marketing Management. It will also promote the notion of life-long learning.

COURSE DURATION : (N4 – N6 )18 months

AWARD :

A student will qualify for a National N Diploma in Business Management on completion of a minimum of 12 subjects, ranging from N4 – N6, together with a minimum of 18 months in-service training.

Certification Body :

All N Certificate and Diplomas are issued by the National Department of Education and are recognised by Commerce and Industry
